Staffing: Staffing the organization with qualified
people.
Directing: Directing employees activities toward
achievement of objectives.
Controlling: Controlling the organization’s activities to
keep it on course.
Definition of Human Resource Management:
Human
resource management is the process acquisition, developing, motivation and
maintenance of human resource effective and efficient way.

resource Management (HRM) is the function within an organization that focuses
on recruitment, selection, placement, compensation, performance management,
training, organization development, Safety, Compensation & benefits,
employee motivation and providing direction for the people who work in the
organization.

Acquisition is the activities in HRM concerned with seeking and hiring
qualified employees. It refers to Identifying job, Recruitment , Selection.
Development: Development is a process which someone or something
grows or changes becomes more advanced . it also Preparing
for future responsibilities. It
refers to Performance
Appraisal, training activities etc.
Motivation/Compensation: Motivation is one of most important concept
in human resource. It means the way in which needs, desire or aspirations
control or explain the behavior of human beings. It refers Salary and wages,
incentives, Bonuses etc.
Maintenance: Maintenance is the function of human resource
management is concerned with protecting and promoting the physical and mental
health of employees. It refers to employee benefits, Safety and health, worker
management relation, health insurance. Security etc.

It is concerned with the optimum utilization of
the human resources within and organization.

sense of mutual respect and trust between management and workers through sound
relations.
It endeavors to increase the productive
efficiency to the workers through training, guidance and counseling and
It tries to raise the morale of the employee.
Organizational
Objectives
To recognize the role of HRM in bringing about
organizational effectiveness.
HRM is not an end itself. It is only a means to
assist the organization with its primary objectives.
Simply stated, the department exists to serve
the rest of the organization.
Societal
Objectives
To be ethically and socially responsible to the
needs and challenges of the society while minimizing the negative impact of
such demands upon the organization.
The failure of organizations to use their
resources for the society’s benefit in ethical way may lead to restrictions.
For example, the society may limit HR decisions
through laws that enforce reservation in hiring and laws that address
discrimination, safety or other such areas of social concern.
