Adverb of time and The tenses

@ বর্তমান সময় উল্লেখ থাকলে এবং often (প্রায়ই), sometimes (মাঝে মাঝে), frequently (ঘনঘন বা বার বার) ইত্যাদি Adverb of time থাকলে present simple হয় । 

Example:

সে আমার বন্ধ ।সে প্রায়ই এখানে আসে। - He is my friend.He often come here.

সে মনোযোগী নয় ।সে মাঝে মাঝে ভল করে। - He is not attentive.He sometimes makes mistakes.

প্রত্যেকে জানে যে অনষ্ঠানটি বার বার অনষ্ঠিত হয় । - Everybody knows that the function is frequently held.

@ অতীত সময় উলেখ থাকলে এবং often (প্রায়ই), sometimes (মাঝে মাঝে), frequently (ঘনঘন বা বার বার) ইত্যাদি Adverb of time থাকলে past simple হয় ।

 

Example:         

সে আমার বন্ধ ছিল । সে এখানে প্রায়ই আসত । - He was my friend.He often came here.

সে মনোযোগী ছিল লা ।সে মাঝে মাঝে ভল করত । - He was not attentive.He sometimes made mistakes.

প্রত্যেকে জানত যে অনষ্ঠানটি বার বার অনষ্ঠিত হত ।- Everybody knew that the function was frequently held.

@ recently/presently/currently(সম্প্রতি),yet(এখনও) ইত্যাদি Adverb of time থাকলে  present perfect হয়.

Example:

সম্প্রতি তিনি বদলি হয়েছেন । - He has recently been transferred.

সে একনও আসে নি । - He has not come yet.

@ কখনও কোনকিছু ঘটেনি বলতে এবং কখনও কোনকিছু ঘটেছে কি-না প্রশ্ন করতে present perfect হয় ।

Example:

আমি কখনও কক্সবাজার যাইনি । - I have never been to Cox’s Bazar.-

তমি কখনও বাঘ দেখেছ?- Have you ever seen a tiger?

@  For two days (period of time)/ since morning (point of time) এরূপ থাকলে সাধারনত perfect Continuous tense হয় । এক্ষেত্রে বর্তমান সময় উলেখ থাকলে present perfect continuous tense হয়, অতীত সময় উলেখ থাকলে past perfect continuous tense হয় এবং ভবিষ্যত সময় উলেখ থাকলে future  Perfect continuous tense হয় ।

Example:

সে ব্যস্ত । সে বাগানে দুই ঘণ্টা যাবৎ কাজ করছে। - He is busy.He has been working in the garden for two hours.

আমরা বাইরে যেতে পারবো না কারণ সকাল থেকে বষ্টি পড়ছে। - We can not go out because it has been raining since morning.

সে ব্যস্ত ছিল ।সে বাগানে দুই ঘণ্টা যাবৎ কাজ করছিল। - He was busy.He had been working in the garden for two hours.

আমরা বাইরে যেতে পারি নি কারণ সকাল থেকে বষ্টি পড়ছিল। - We could not go out because it had been raining since morning.

@ Yesterday (গতকাল), last night (গতরাত), ago (আগে বা পর্বে) ইত্যাদি Adverb of time থাকলে past simple হয় ।

Example:

সে এখানে গতকাল এসেছিল। - He came here yesterday.

লোকটি গতরাতে মারা গেলেন । - The man died last night.

আমি তার সাথে বহু বৎসর পর্বে সাক্ষাৎ করেছিলাম। - I met him many years ago.

@ একটি clause এ past tense থাকলে এবং অপর clause the previous day (পর্ব দিন), the previous year (পর্ববর্তী বছর), the previous night (পর্ব রাত), before (পর্বে) ইত্যাদি Adverb of time থাকলে অপর clause এ past perfect tense হয় ।

Example:

সে আমাকে বলেছিল যে সে পর্বের দিন অসস্থ ছিল। -   He told me that he had been ill the previous day.

সে আমাকে বলেছিল যে সে তোমার সাথে পর্বে সাক্ষাৎ করেছিল। - He told me that he had met you before.

সে আমাকে বলেছিল যে সে পর্বরাতে এসেছিল। - He told me that he had come the previous night.

@ tomorrow থাকলে future হয় | 

আমি আগামীকাল ঢাকায় যাবো। - I shall go to Dhaka tomorrow.

@ By+future time থাকলে future perfect tense হয় | 

সে আগামী সোমবার নাগাদ কাজটি করে থাকবে। - By Monday next he will have done the work.
