Proper Noun (বিশেষ নাম):
যে Noun দ্বারা কোন নির্দিষ্ট
ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা স্থানের নাম বোঝায় তাকে Proper Noun বলে।
A proper noun refers to
specific names of persons, things, places, etc. and always start with a capital
letter.
Example: -
Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. (Dhaka is the name of a particular capital)
- Sunny is a smart boy. (Sunny is the name of a particular boy)
- Rimi is a clever girl. (Rimi is the name of a particular girl)

Note: Proper
noun always starts with capital letter.

Common Noun (জাতি বাচক নাম)

Common Noun বলে । যেমন, Student, Book, Dog, Flower etc.

considered of as one whole.

‘majority’ -র পরে singular এবং plural উভয়
ধরনের verb বসতে পারে। খেয়াল করবেন, যখন majority একা বসবে অর্থাৎ তার পরে অন্য

Salt, Iron, Silver, Cloth, Air, Milk, etc.

Abstract Noun (গুণ বা ভাববাচক নাম)
যে Noun দ্বারা কোন ব্যক্তি কিংবা
বস্তুর গুণ, কাজের নাম কিংবা অবস্থা প্রকাশ করা হয় তাকে Abstract Noun বলে। যেমন,
Liberty, anger, freedom, kindness, love, happiness, beauty, ইত্যাদি।
An Abstract Noun is usually
the name of a quality, action, state or concept.
Abstract nouns are the names of such things that can’t be touched, tested, smelt or heard.
Such as:
Quality- honesty, beauty, bravery, wisdom, heroism, stupidity, darkness, kindness, goodness, brightness, etc.
Action- Judgment, movement, laughter, hatred, theft, etc.
State- Childhood, boyhood, youth, death, poverty, slavery, sickness, sleep, etc.
Abstract nouns are the names of such things that can’t be touched, tested, smelt or heard.
Such as:
Quality- honesty, beauty, bravery, wisdom, heroism, stupidity, darkness, kindness, goodness, brightness, etc.
Action- Judgment, movement, laughter, hatred, theft, etc.

names of Arts and Science such as grammar, chemistry, physics, music, etc.
are also abstract noun.
কয়েকটি
গুরুত্তপূর্ন বিষয়ঃ
noun গুলোর ক্ষেত্রে কয়েকটি
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয় মনে রাখতে হবে তা হচ্ছেঃ
১। Material noun এর plural হয়
না, সব সময় singular হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়
২। Common noun সমূহ কে
plural হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা যায় এবং singular হিসেবে ব্যবহার করলে তার আগে অবশ্যই কোন
আর্টিকেল বসবে তবে plural হিসেবে ব্যবহার করলে তার আগে article না বসালেও চলবে।
৩। Proper noun কে অবশ্যই
capitalize করতে হবে অর্থাৎ এর প্রথম অক্ষরটি বড় হাতের হবে এবং এদেরকে plural করা
যাবে না বা এদের আগে article বসানো যাবে না। যদি তা করা হয় তবে তা common noun এ পরিবর্তিত
হয়ে যাবে।

Uncountable Noun (অগণনাযোগ্য বিশেষ্য):
যে সকল Noun কে সংখ্যা দিয়ে গণনা করা যায় না তাদেরকে Uncountable Noun বলে ।

যেমন - Rice, Wheat, Silver, Sand, Oil, Honey, Water, Gee, Butter, Milk, Flour ইত্যাদি ।

@ Some nouns are countable in other languages but uncountable in English. They must follow the rules for uncountable nouns. The most common ones are:

@ Be careful with the noun hair which is normally uncountable in English, so it is not used in the plural. It can be countable only when referring to individual hairs.
